French Customs are in the final stages of piloting a new electronic process called PABLO for validating tax refund forms at Charles de Gaulle airport. Premier Tax Free have participated in the development of this innovative project, which should undergo initial trials this summer in Terminal 2.
Tourists will be able to validate their tax forms electronically at departure, without having to stand in line for the Customs officer to physically stamp their tax forms. Instead, the tourist will simply pass by an electronic bar code reader that will recognise and read the document and immediately validate it for refund.
